Future Forward – Empowering Adult Learners to Use AI for Everyday Life and Work

We are excited to present the Future Forward project, an European project (KA220- ADU) aimed at enhancing the digital skills of adult learners and educators, focusing on the practical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in everyday life and work.

The project’s main objective is to empower adult learners with the knowledge and skills to safely access and use AI-based services, as well as provide adult educators with the necessary competencies to deliver effective and engaging training on the subject.

Objectives

  • For Adult Educators: Improve the knowledge, skills, and competencies of adult educators to deliver effective basic training on how to access and use AI tools.
  • For Adult Learners: Enhance the knowledge and skills of adult learners, focusing on the safe and accessible use of AI in both personal and professional contexts.

Partners

The Future Forward project brings together a dynamic partnership of five organizations across Europe: Learnable (Italy), as the coordinator, develops the MOOC for adult learners to improve their digital competencies. Budakow Films (Bulgaria) will create engaging Use Case Animations to simplify AI concepts for learners. Responsible Society – ReS (Czech Republic) leads the development of the Online Trainer Platform for adult educators. University of Valencia (Spain) designs a Transnational Training Course for educators on AI tools. Berlink (Germany) supports the project through strategic planning and dissemination efforts, ensuring broad reach and impact.

Expected Results

  • Online Trainer Platform: This platform will provide educators with the necessary materials, tools, and support to effectively manage and assess training on how to use AI tools.
  • Transnational Training Course: A 5-day training course for adult educators, designed to build competencies for delivering AI training to adult learners.
  • Use Case Animations: These animations will demonstrate how AI can be used in various everyday life and work contexts, helping adult learners understand complex AI concepts in an easy and relatable way.
  • MOOC (Massive Open Online Course): An online training course for adult learners that will teach them how to properly access and use AI tools, helping them gain the digital competencies needed to navigate AI services safely.
  • Multiplier Events: Two multiplier events in each partner country, aimed at engaging stakeholders and the target group.

Kick-off Meeting

The first kick-off meeting for the Future Forward project is scheduled for January 20, 2025, and will be hosted by Learnable in Fano, Italy. This meeting will mark the beginning of this exciting project, where all partners will align on objectives, share insights, and define the next steps.
